From September 19th to 20th, the International Forum on Resilient and Stable Industrial and Supply Chains was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in a hybrid form under the theme of “Work Together to Navigate the Tough Times and Make a Pragmatic Push for Building Resilient Global Industrial and Supply Chains”. With national leaders and ministerial officials from 15 countries, including Argentine President Alberto Fernández and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic joining online, and representatives from 29 diplomatic envoys in China, 4 international organizations, 6 business associations and more than 50 multinational companies attending in person, the Forum provided a platform for dialogues and exchanges on topics such as strengthening global industrial cooperation, smoothing international logistics, and promoting the recovery of the world economy. It was jointlyhosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Transport, the Development Research Center of the State Council and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and organized by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID).
President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the International Forum on Resilient and Stable Industrial and Supply Chains, noting that maintaining resilient and stable global industrial and supply chains is an important guarantee for promoting global economy development and is in the common interests of people of all countries. Vice Premier Liu He attended the Forum andreadPresident Xi’s congratulatory letter.
During the forum, China, together with the G20 presidency Indonesia, Chile, Cuba, Pakistan, and Serbia, jointly launched Initiatives of International Forum on Resilient and Stable Industrial and Supply Chains, calling on all countries to work together to build more equal, inclusive and constructive industrial and supply chain partnerships, and to build a better and more prosperous world.
At the themed forum, Zhang Li, President of China Center for Information Industry Development, presided over the themed salon on “Joining Hands to Build a Smooth and Stable Global Industrial and Supply Chain”, where representatives of 6 multinational companies including Ford Motor, IBM, AstraZeneca, Bosch, and General Motors had intensive discussions on a number of hot topics related to industrial and supply chains, such as automotive industry chain, automotive chips, digital economy, and flexible supply chain.
